Vulpiano Records fans - please also check out the great Arizona label Holy Page! I recently purchased Vulpiano affiliate Lately Kind of Yeah’s new release Derzyklus from the label - pictured here are the package contents and delightfully decorated mailer (and yes, that is a random basketball trading card that was included - still riding the dunkwaves!). You can read a review of Derzyklus over at my music blog A Future in Noise. Recommended if you are interested in experimental electronic, ambient, and acoustic guitar work.

Vulpiano Records on Internet Archive ⇢

I am pleased to announce that the Vulpiano Records catalog, a label devoted to exclusively Creative Commons releases, is now being uploaded to the Internet Archive:
http://archive.org/details/vulpiano-records

Most of the catalog is there, with a handful of releases remaining to be uploaded soon.

The Internet Archive is a fabulous digital preservation project - for those unfamiliar with the Archive’s work, please see this link:
http://archive.org/about/

Uploading the catalog to the Archive means a more permanent storage solution, delivering the content directly to a community of Creative Commons aficionados, tagging by genre, and enabling easier streaming and embedding of content. A vast repository of content from other netlabels housed on Internet Archive can be accessed here: http://archive.org/details/netlabels

As always, Vulpiano continues to be open to music submissions from unsigned and independent artists - please contact marilynroxie@gmail.com or visit http://vulpiano.tumblr.com/ for more information.

Vulpiano Records is Looking for a Volunteer Promoter!

VOLUNTEER PROMOTER - Description:

As a promoter, your chief duty would be to submit Vulpiano Records songs and album downloads to relevant music blogs and podcasts for consideration, with a focus on those that feature artists that are: independent, unsigned, and/or artists in the genres that Vulpiano specializes in (ambient, electronic, and acoustic). As a perk, you’ll be able to listen to Vulpiano releases as soon as they’re available - before they hit the website! Social media experience and music blogosphere awareness preferred. Interested in the position and more info? Contact netlabel owner Marilyn Roxie with “Vulpiano Records” in the subject: marilynroxie@gmail.com

—-About Vulpiano Records—-

Vulpiano Records isn’t an ordinary label. Vulpiano is a collective and a community. The concept behind Vulpiano is simple: to offer quality free music. Genres we specialize in are ambient, electronic, and acoustic. All artists are linked by their spirit of independence and experimentation. We hope you enjoy and share the music.

Vulpiano Records was launched in November 2009 by synth musician Marilyn Roxie, initially as a place to house unsigned and independent artists they had gotten to know from networking on Last.fm and submissions to Roxie’s music blog, A Future in Noise. These artists got on board with Roxie’s vision of a free music collective. The music is licensed under Creative Commons to encourage sharing of this fabulous music with friends and through blogs and podcasts.

Top-listened to artists on the label as of early 2012 according to Last.fm scrobbles are Natural Snow Buildings, Fire Island Pines, and Anton Rothschild.

Vulpiano Records hiatus until late 2011/early 2012…

Note from Marilyn Roxie: Due to my intense college workload, I am not able to put in as much time into shaping and promoting Vulpiano Records as before so, along with the planning of a couple of upcoming releases later this year / early 2012, there will be no new releases for now. Please do continue to submit your music for consideration on the label, explore our catalog, and share Vulpiano music with others. Thank you for listening! If you are interested in becoming part of the Vulpiano team to evaluate submissions and write release descriptions, please contact marilynroxie@gmail.com

Vulpiano Records is proud to have recently become part of the incredible clongclongmoo database of netlabels. Check it out here: http://www.clongclongmoo.org/
